Cool [Advice] How do you clean up 1.67gb in Others Category ?

    Hi Guys,

I've got a situation where when i go into iTunes i have 1.67gb used in the 'Other' category.
I'm puzzled why its so high and i want to see what applications is taking up so much space. I have a number of applications installed and used to have catepillar (trial) and i dont think i uninstalled completely as i can see it in mobilefinder and squid.

I havent got ssh because it doesnt work when i follow the process (what is the full process???).
Anyway i can see the size of the applications and to clean up my iPhone?

    Thanks

If you had a bad music sync/transfer, this usually occurs. At one point in time I had over 900mb of "other."

Sync and backup your phone then do a restore.

Connect your phone in iTunes and click "Sync." It should create a backup. To check if a backup was created, go to "Edit" -> "Preferences" and click on the "Syncing" tab and check the date and time of the most recent sync.

To restore your firmware, use iLiberty/ZiPhone (whatever app you like) and put your phone in DFU mode. Go back to iTunes and hold down the "Shift" button on your keyboard and click on "Restore." Then choose the firmware you want to restore to (make sure you've downloaded this firmware - Firmware Files from i.unlock.no) and restore.

Once restored, unlock/jailbreak/etc. using the app of your choice (iLiberty/ZiPhone). Then head back to iTunes and it should give you the option to restore your settings from the recently created backup.

    Good luck.

shouldn't you not restore settings ever? and only sync? i've done phones and hit restore previously saved settings thru itunes and it removed the jailbreak/unlock. unless im missing something here.

Not for me. After a successful activate/unlock, restoring my settings from a backup in iTunes always worked and retained my unlocked status.

I tried connecting winscp on my pc and when i input the ip address it comes with an error of connection error. When select ok or cancel it puts me back to the last screen. Any ideas???
Is there no way to see the applications or files with their file size???
