I followed the steps based from hacktheiphone website.

I restored my iphone with ITunes 7.3 before installing 7.4. Now when I'm trying to activate my phone with iNdependence 1.1.1 the activation fails??

I keep getting a "Failure - Activation failed with code - 402653165".

I entered the correct IMEI and ICCID to generate a .plist file but I still cannot get this to work.

Damn, I just want my iphone activated. I'm doing this on a mac.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can I not use this iPhone Activator Tool (iPAT 0.3)??

This is what I used to activate my iphone when I was using ITUNES 7.3??

Will I have problems with this??

Man someone must be able to help me out.

Is there not another program I can use to activate the phone using 7.4??

I had the same problem, but suddenly it worked, I think I did like this:

1. Try to activate and get the error above
2. Exit iNdependance
3. Disconnect iPhone
4. Reconnect iPhone
5. Restart iNdependance
6. Click activate (And it worked)

(I also started the program from my desktop insted of from a mounted dmg, don't know if it matters)

Just quit iNdependance, and run it once more. then do the activation step that is failing once again (putting the generated file). I got this problem many times before .

GUys all those using a mac plz use iActivator to activate your iphones, i updated to 1.0.2 n my itunes is updated to 7.4

here are instructions COS IT WONT WORK THE VERY FIRST TIME you will get an error

ACTIVATING Iphone USING “ iActivator “


iActivator
( Desktop>iPhoneStuff>new>Using iActivator>iActivator)

STEPS:

1. copy iPhonetool to Desktop
2. Plug in iPhone
3. Quit iTunes
4. Launch iActivator
5. You will be prompted to select the directory “ iPhonetool”
6. Press “Perfom Jailbreak”
7. Put iPhone in “recovery mode” ( holding down Home+Sleep buttons)
8. After that wait till a pop up window says “Jailbreak Succeeded” (should take about a minute in total)
9. Press “Put PEM File” button to put a new certificate on your phone, this allows you to create your own activation file.
10. Now press “Generate Activation” Enter your IMEI and ICCID. Remember the location you save the plist file in call it “a.plist”
11. You will need : IMEI : 0112 xxxx xxxx xxx
ICCID : xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
12. Press the “Activate iPhone” and choose the “a.plist” file
13. NOTE : IF WHILE ACTIVATING YOU GET THIS ERROR “ activation failed with error- 402653165” THEN * QUIT IACTIVATOR *OPEN TERMINAL & TYPE : cd Desktop
cd iPhonetool
./tool --activate a.plist

IT “WILL” FAIL AGAIN
LAUNCH iactivator AGAIN AND NOW PRESS “ ACTIVATE iPhone “
NOW YOUR PHONE SHOULD ACTIVATE SUCCESSFULLY


14. Press “Return To Jail” to set your phone to read only state.
15. You will be prompted to restart your phone.

ENJOY your activated phone.

iNdependance is maintained by the same guy that did iActivator and it has been mentioned multiple times that there won't be any further releases of iActivator.

whenever i face that problem... error- 402653165 while using independence or iactivator... i simply change the state of my phone jailbroken -> jailed or vice versa and then click on the activate button.... works everytime

I managed to activate - but when I connect to iTunes 7.4.1 I get SIM error (not a valid SIM card) - any ideas?
