how to install windows w/o bootcamp
hello! My cousin over in seattle just got me a free copy of windows vista home premium b/c he works for microsoft. I own a black macbook, and i have been desperately trying to install windows on it for the last 7 hours or so. I dont have boot camp, unfortunately, b/c im running on mac osx 10.4.something, and boot camp only comes with leopard. I remember reading somewhere on these forums that if i put in the disc, and restart my notebook while holding down the c key it should load. It did load, but when i clicked on both the first and the second partitions available (for there were only 2) it pretty much said that windows could not be installed on either of these because they were not valid or something similar to that. I have no idea why they would not be valid, other than the fact that i have roughly 50 gb free of the max 80 on my hard drive. Lol, i deleted everything i ever put on this comp, just so i could see windows refuse to install on my laptop. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
PS: I know that my information is kind of vague, i dont remember the exact message windows gave me. Also, if this isnt in the right forum, admins, feel free to relocate it to the correct one. I'm sorry, im new to this site. Thanks again!!!
