for me it is the Intel D975XBX2

The Gigabyte P965-DS3 seems to be a pretty popular board with all the onboard stuff working.
I have a P5B-Plus, but it has an attansic Gig-E chipset, so I had to use a PCI ethernet card to get network running. A small price to pay, i guess.

Asus P5L-VM 1394 is an inexpensive, easy route to success. The only thing not working is the Attansic onboard ethernet, but pick up a $10.00 Realtek 8169 based gig ethernet board to go with it and you're done. All else works perfectly - pata/sata/audio/firewire/usb etc.

Another vote for the D975XBX2
This board works perfectly with OS X, exception of the Marvell controller.

And another one here. You can hardly get anything better.

I have an Intel D975XBX2 as well. It works perfectly with Upuuck 1.3, with the exception of sleep and sound, but many others have reported these working, so I am sure that is just my noob-ness.
Rock solid, and no crashes except for sleep.
Any of you others have guidance (or useful links) for getting sound and sleep to work with this board?
TIA,
Mike

The sigmatel patcher on iMac was the way I got mine working. If/when iMac comes back up, I'll try to find the post.
As for sleep, I don't seem to have a problem with it... so its probably other hardware in your system that doesn't want to sleep.

Thanks, EtherealRemnant.
I'll do more research into sleep.

You need to decide how much you are willing to spend, then get the best board for your money. Otherwise it's difficult to make recommendations. A 975 board would be great but if you are on a 945 budget it's pointless to recommend.
