about dvd - no, need to replace kernel there and place boot.efi
about ipod , prasys tried, works ok.
after you done with it, just recreate partition table there, or make a backup b4 using(dd is ur friend)

Okee I got it, but what's the benefit of using an usb drive to boot off and then booting your system with still a replaced kernel. Isn't the whole EFI thing about how to install and run a unmodified osx on your machine? Is netkas or somebody else working on/checking this as well?
Well it a great accomplishment and a very good start on the EFI side.
My only question is why do we still need to patch the kernel? What's still standing in our way to booting a fully unpatched DVD (other than TPM)?
because e.g. we haven't applesmc sensors hardware, which also content tpm keys
Well, I have a TPM module on my intel m/board, so, as far as i guess, if i put the keys there it will do.
But what about the current status? Can we at least now use software update without any fear of killing osx, or the sensors are still the big problem?
And can anyone tell me where can I get those keys and how to flash 'em onto the TPM?
f*ck no, read my post,
keys are storred in applesmc sensor-devices
obviously no real improve of having the EFI hack, right?

can't we rely on dsmos.kext/r3d3.kext for the decrypting?
or does the kernel use the keys for something else?
I also have same error.....
somebody solved that?
