Do pardon me, what is the different between 8.10.1 and 8.10.3? Is there any working fix for the 8.10.3 restart? Thanks

I had a problem installing DMG files with 10.4.10 due to mismatch of System.kext and kernel version and i tried to install 8.10.3 on my VMWare. And I found out its very simple to get 8.10.3 work on a 10.4.10.

This is how i got things work for my VMWare:

    1. Get the XXX 10.4.10 Mac OS install image
    2. Install with 8.9.1 kernel, do not install the 8.10.1 kernel. Let it boot and see if Mac OS should run normally. If so, shutdown and move to next step. If it dont boot, try another options to get Mac OS run.
    3. Get 8.10.3 kernel from here: http://forum.osx86.hu/index.php?topic=672.0. In the file 8.10.3, there're customed System.kext and 2 kernels: 8.10.3 with HPET, w/o HPET . I use the later.
    4. Use MacDrive Map the disk image (in my case, i map the VMware VMDK image).
    5. Replace the System.kext and mach_kernel with the kernel you choose.

It work flawless on my VMWare 6. Never tried it on a real PC but i think its gonna no problem.

    Good luck.
