    If it panics or hangs:
    - post a screenshot

    If it works for you:
    - post hardware
    - post version

No "where do I get it???" posts pls
I can do amd, but no testing on intel, sorry, but glad to hear that the development is coming along nicely

So I can verify that the march 15th 8.9.1 kernel works like a dream on AMD SSE3 (Socket 754 3400+). It seems a lot faster than 8.8.1 now! Woot!

    Thanks all
    K

Are you already busy with developing of the 8.9.1 osx86 SSE2 kernel ?

I'm also interested in the new kernel. I currently have a ThinkPad T43 working with 10.4.6 and I'm hesitant to update it to 10.4.9, because I'm unsure wether the current Semthex kernel is compatible with this newest version.

I know I could upgrade to 10.4.8 in the meantime, but I've been unable to hunt down the 10.4.8 update in the usual places...

    Angry

Okie, I updated to 10.4.9 by using jas 10.4.9 combo from my Mac OSX 10.4.8 and updated to the newest 10.4.9 kernel from our IRC chat. But I have problem like this:

1- Install Jas 10.4.8 DVD Intel/SSE3 only Reseed - Restart ==> Worked fine
2- Upgrade Jas 10.4.9 Combo Update - Restart ==> Worked fine
3- Apply Callisto 008 (Including change some values in Atiradeon9700.kext & AtiRadeon9700GA.plugin for getting QE & CI supported) - Restart ==> Worked fine
4- Replace AppleSMBIOS.kext & IOATAFamily.kext follow paulicat's Method. Hardware's info are all correct in "about this Mac" - Restart ==> Worked fine
5- Then I shutdown my computer

Everything seem fine before shutdown. Mac 10.4.9 worked great!

6- In the evening, I turn on my computer and oops I got the kernel panic: unable to find driver for this platform: "ACPI" (It asked me to hold power key for restart... bla bla... with many number above...). What's happen?
7- Okie, I login my WinXP then used Transmac for delete Extensions.kextcache & Extensions.mkext - Restart ==> Worked fine
8- I restarted again - Restart ==> kernel panic: unable to find driver for this platform: "ACPI"
9- I installed 10.4.4.loginwindow.pkg & MPIP103_10.4.9.SMB.CIFS.APF.FIX.dmg (include in Jas 10.4.9 combo package) - Restart ==> kernel panic: unable to find driver for this platform: "ACPI"
10- I returned original IOATAFamily.kext - Restart ==> kernel panic: unable to find driver for this platform: "ACPI"
11- But when I login my WinXP then used Transmac for delete Extensions.kextcache & Extensions.mkext - Restart ==> Worked fine

So, something like this: If I delete Extensions.kextcache & Extensions.mkext before restart, I can login to Mac OSX, without it, I got the kernel panic: unable to find driver for this platform: "ACPI"

    My specs:

    Gigabyte GA-8IK1100 (875P - ICH5R)+Realtek AC'97 ALC658 (5.1) (2.0 Stereo works only)+Creative Audigy 2 ZS (Not working!)+Intel 3.0G, 800Hz, SSE3, HPET & non NX+Kingston 2 X 512 (1GB) DDRAM 400Hz+ATI X850 XTPE 256MB (QE, Q2D & CI Supported - AGPGart 2.2 Failed)+Maxtor 120G SATA (SATA Raid Function must be disabled in BIOS)+Pioneer DVR-111DBK (DVD-R) (Works Perfectly!)+LG DVD Combo (Works Perfectly!)+Intel Pro 10/100 VE (Auto Detected)

I found the solution is add "-f" to boot.plist and until now, everything work fine. But I still search for some better solutions. If U know, please help me
    Thanks in advanced

did you set any boot argument in you BOOT.plist file ? (like platform=ACPI)

otherwise you may need to remove kernel caches (not only extension caches) et maybe there's a problem with one of the CPU kext (try to remove AppleIntelCPU... kext)

    ....and maybe appleacpiplatform.kext and appleapic.kext from 1048
