4.0.1 Live (Backup 4.0 SHSH While you can)

Like the Title states, 4.0.1 is now live to download, backup your SHSH files while you still can

Yup. We can expect Apple will stop signing 4.0 in the upcoming week to two weeks. Also, 4.1b1 has been seeded to devs, so we should be seeing that in the near future as well.

As always, make sure you get your SHSH on file for the current firmwares -- you won't have the opportunity to do so in the future, and a quick search of the forum will show you the woes that people who ignored this advice in the past are having.

Yea i Purchased my 3GS the week after they stopped signing 3.1.3. That was when i wasnt paying attention to what was going on. Upgraded to 4.0 thinking i could dg... nope.. no signed 3.1.3 shsh :(

I learned my lesson tho...lol

Am i right in asuming that saurik will save SHSH for 4.0 even tho i am on 3.1.3 and have never installed 4.0 as stated on this website

Hi everyone,
Noob question. Im currently deployed in Afghanistan and made the mistake of updating to 4.0 and Im waiting for the jailbreak to come out so I can use an Afghai sim card.

I wish I knew more before I did as now Im stuck waiting but how would I go about backig up my "blobs" as mentioned here on a non jail broken 3gs old bootroom 4.0 ios? I already messed up by updating and dont want to be stuck again by having no blobs.

Update: I apologize for the dumb question, after a long time waiting for the internet out here to load I found my answer, for other new people like me you can use a program called tiny umbrella regardless of jail break or not. A quick question: now that i saved my shsh file on saurik, can i install a custom 4.0 ipsw on my 3gs? its running on 4.0 and it is on new boot rom.
