3.1.3 ******** 3.1.2 downgrade, 3gs. iTunes stuck

i upgraded to 3.1.3 when spirit came out, and since then my battery has drained much faster than on 3.1.2, so i decided to downgrade. i saved my shsh files on my computer, and according to cydia it's saved there as well.

i followed the guide on iclarified to downgrade using the backups on cydia, but my phone gets stuck on the following screen on itunes & my phone:

i tried changed the host file back and tried the reg restore through apple, and it gets stuck at the exact same spot.

only way to fix it is to try on my windows pc.

something seems to be wrong w/ itunes on my mbp (haven't tried reinstalling).

can i clean out any files in itunes that possibly solve this problem??

On a mac, I doubt that just removing iTunes will help.

Removing and reinstalling Mobile Device framework might fix it - see iTunes: How to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service on Mac OS X

However I really can't tell you why it is failing without more information - if you follow the instructions at http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/130802.htm you have much more chance of getting help.

odd thing is, if i have my other iphone plugged in (2g), it goes through the process, but drops off at that progress bar, then gives me the 1015 error. otherwise, it never ends and i have to a force quit to stop it.

still can't get past the 1015 error though trying to downgrade :(

didn't post since it's only happening on my mac. on my win 7 64 bit machine, it works fine.

but not i'm onto a separate problem of running spirit after the downgrade going into restore mode. redoing the process now to see if it's stuck in the constant restore mode or not. or if i need to use an older jb.

yep, it was stuck in the reboot. had to use irecovery to get it out. all is well now :))
