    Default preventing baseband upgrade

    Hey Guys, please help.
I have a 3G S 32GB iPhone which was JailBroken and unlocked with BlackRa1n RC3, firmware is still 3.1.2. Everytime I turned off the iPhone I had to run BlackRa1n to fix the boot up problem (Recovery Screen).
I decided to JailBreak with Spirit to fix the boot up issue, but once I ran BlackRain after turning on my iPhone and got into the normal screen, I ran Spirit and it went all the way to the end but after a boot got stuck in recovery mode agian (Showing a plug in USB to iTune) and I DO NOT WANT TO UPGRADE TO 3.1.3 because I will lose the unlock.
Tried Blackrain again but keeps on showing me GeoHotz picture and restarting back to the same iTunes screen.
NOW totally Stuck to this mode.
even tried iTunes with holding shift key click on restore and chosen 3.1.2 version, gives me a 1601 error message.
    Any ideas?????

No, that article has nothing to do with his problem. His issue is not being able to restore to 3.1.2 because apple is no longer signing 3.1.2 (hence the error). He doesn't want to update regularly because he will lose his unlock when the baseband is updated. His safest option is to do what I linked to, or he can wait for 4.0 and jailbreak and unlock with the tools that are released then.

Agreed, he has no other option than the option you linked to. As he relies on unlock, will need to borrow a SIM card from the carrier the iPhone is locked to (for activation)

There is an existing thread for this http://www.hackint0sh.org/f247/129972.htm please direct all further discussion there.
