Hi to all i have a 3gs 3.1.3 that was updated from itunes about 4 months ago,if i use spirit to jailbreak what will this allow me to then do and is there a program that will then unlock the iphone so i can put any sim card in or does spirit do this thanks to anyone who can help me.

If you can updated via iTunes then you almost certianly updated the baseband to 05.12.01 which can't be unlocked (today)

There are safe ways to go to 3.1.3 on the 3GS that prevent baseband update last ditch method or pwnagetool / custom IPSW (old bootrom 3GS only) if you used either of these then you can use blacksn0w (baseband 05.11.07) or ultrasn0w (baseband 04.26.08)
