I have my friends brand new iPhone 3G[s] with firmware 3.1.3 running on it.
Does Spirit JB works on it? There is no need to save the SHSH blob files, since the iphone does not need to be downgraded.

There is always a need to save SHSH blobs if you ever want to re-jailbreak.
