I have a 3GS with old bootrom and only have shsh for 4.0 and 4.01.
Now that I have my device jailbreaked with jailbreakme.com, I wonder me if it is possible to catch the powned train like it is with 3.2.1 and spirit2pwned on old bootrom 3GS without SHSH saved.
Maybe a jailbreakme2pwned patch ????

Pretty clear it is only for 4.0.1 - there are some small differences between 4.0 and 4.0.1 so I don't think this tool will work on 4.0l.

Upgrade/restore to 4.0.1 and jailbreak again. Then try spirit2Pwn tool.

Yes, simply copy to the iPhone and run the script (as root)

Maybe another solution is to use redsn0w 0.9.5 BETA. I read at some place that it works for 3GS, but at the official web page, they only talk about 3G.

Does it work with 3GS old bootrom ? It would be easier...

Redsan0w 0.9.5 does NOT work for the 3GS old bootrom. Until a new low level exploit is revealed, the only way is via Spirit2Pwn.

It is ok.
I succesfully pwned my iPhone with this spirit2pwned....
