GPS issue
Hi all,
I've made jailbreak in my Iphone 3G with 3.1.3 with no problem.
The only issue is that GPS is not working very well after jailbreaking.
When I execute locationd into terminal, this is what I get:
#./locationd
2010-05-05 08:50:18.135 locationd[153:903] ***CFMessagePort: bootstrap_register(): failed 1100 (0x44c) 'Permission denied', port = 0x5703, name = 'com.apple.locationd.registration'
See /usr/include/servers/bootstrap_defs.h for the error codes.
ERROR,Time,294735018.156,Function,"bool CLDaemonCore::start()",could not create client registration port
ERROR,Time,294735018.156,Function,"bool CLDaemonCore::start()",daemon initialization failed
Let's see if we can solve it.
Thanks & regards.

I get exactly the same messages on a pwnagetool jailbroken iPhone that has never been used with Spirit.
Same error with GPS on or off.
Maybe you do have a real problem but your test methodology is flawed.
GPS issues are usually fixed by:
- Correct time and timezone offset (this can sometimes involve picking another location in the same timezone just to make sure your phone has set the timezone correctly)
- Resetting network settings
Looking at syslog might give you more useful information.
Also try turning on airplane mode and then making sure that only wifi and GPS are on (the telephone/3G side should be off due to airplane mode) then see of the GPS works.
The type of GPS in most mobiles is A-GPS (Assisted GPS) which uses the cell towers to offload some of the GPS work. It might be possible that the carrier you are using has something misconfigured with their A-GPS functionality in their cell towers and that is why your GPS is not working.
Also try a different carrier who has their own cell towers. See if GPS works with that carrier.
All this has been discussed before and I highly doubt that Spirit is the cause of your GPS problems.
