iPhone is adding numbers (operator code) without any permission!
Hi there!
I'm in Brazil, with my pwned 2.0 iPhone. Thing is, it's doing something really weird.
In Brazil, when you place a long distance code, you dial 0 and ##, being ## an operator code, so you select your prefered carrier for long distance code. Ditto for international calls, being that 00 ##.
That said, I've noticed that, when I tap the numbers I wanted to dial, they got different at the Recent calls log.
My default carrier is Oi, and the ## code for it is 31.
When I dial something like:
+1 800 XXXXXXX
It shows this on the Recent Calls menu:
00 31 1800 XXXXXX !!!
And when I dial
+55 21 XXXXXXXX
It gives me, on that log:
0 31 (21) XXXXXXX !!!!
That is, it knows when it is a long distance call, or an international call, choose the right prefix, and dial it, adding my phone operator! I prefer to have control on which numbers are actually dialed, so... Can anyone give me a hint on why is this happening? It's likely that some previous file from other installs are doing this, but I am not sure, as Installer.app is not here anymore!
I wonder why is it filtering my numbers and adding my operator code, which I DON'T want!
The most annoying side effects of this is that when I choose a contact on my address book (they don't include operator codes), they are not showing properly on the Recent Calls. It's like this: I have Mr. Vain on my contact list. His number is (077) 5555-5555. When I tap on Mr. Vain's phone to call it, it calls it normally. But when I check on the Recent Calls log, it doesn't show "Mr. Vain", but 031775555-5555.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
Yours,
Francis
P.S. - I've discussed this as a side discussion on another thread, but it seems this deserve a thread of its own.
