1.1.2 Anysim Unlocked -> 1.1.3 "soft-update" = BEST SOLUTION

I think that people are having problems because the soft update does not work properly on 1.1.1 iPhones. Find tutorials on how to go from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2(not really hard) AND THEN do the iBrickr 1.1.3 jailbreak/update. Every single thing works on my iPhone and everything that was on 1.1.2 stayed intact. 3rd party apps of course got wiped but no big deal just reeinstall them.

my phone was born a 1.0 but is currently running 1.1.2 w/ anySim, i am wanting to use the softupdate to move up to 1.1.3 and find your post gladdeniing but currently my phone locks up at random times, especially in Customize but also in Safari and Netservices... i kind of feel like it should be wiped to a pristine state before being upgraded to 1.1.3 as there could be some badness floating around after the many updates and install/uninstalls on it, does this mean i really have to go back down to 1.1.1 and jailbreak to get installer, and then Oktoprep for 1.1.2, update to 1.1.2 and then move on to 1.1.3?

i would kill for a faster way to clean up my current installation, but i guess restoring it to 1.1.2 first would leave it locked and jailed once again... sigh..

Here is my experience doing this on an iPhone Unlokced on 1.1.1 with AnySim 1.1 (you MUST upgrade to 1.1.2 and unlock via anysim 1.2.1u before going to 1.1.3 and this guide will help you backup your data and upgrade and remain unlocked)

- OK Downloaded iBrickr for 1.1.3 (link for PC) (link for Mac) I haven't done the mac version

1) Sync your iphone with iTunes (so you have a recent backup of your phone/contacts/data)
2) Restore it to 1.1.1 and Jailbreak with *#307# (you should still be unlcoked - but will erase all apps etc, this is good so you dont have to uninstall them in 1.1.3)
3) Install OKtoprep from installer
4) Shift+Upgrade to 1.1.2 (not restore)
5) Run Jailbreak.jar to jailbreak 1.1.2
6) Install BSD Subsystem from installer
7) Add - http://rep.frenchiphone.com or http://hacktheiphone.com/1.xml to installer sources
8) Install AnySim 1.2.1u (or download the app from the elite dev website and ssh/winscp, and copy it to applications with 0755 permissions) - NOT AnySIM 1.2p (make sure the name is correct)
9) Turn Airplane Mode ON in Settings
10) Set Auto Lock to Never in settings - General - Auto Lock
11) Run AnySim 1.2.1u (make sure airplane mode is ON and you see a plane in the status bar)
11) Reboot after Successful
12) Take Airplane mode off - Fully Working 1.1.2 - Uninstall/Remove Anysim
13) Run new Ibrickr for 1.1.3 Soft-Update (link for PC) (link for Mac)
14) Run 1.1.3 Soft-Update from Installer (make sure autolock is never and leave it)
15) Allow it to do its thing (it will reboot - even if it pops you back to the spring board leanve it)

You will now have 1.1.3 firmware with 1.1.2 baseband, jailbreaked unlocked and activated.

16) Go to setting and reset all settings. (if you need to - I didnt on my phone) - to fix edge and wifi settings if needed
17) Sync and enjoy
18) Use 1.1.3 SoftUpgrade Cleaner from Installer to remove the 300mb files ibrickr put on your phone
19) Add http://i.unlock.no to installer sources and run the youtube patch.
20) Fix caller ID:

Bezman is absolutely right. I already tried softupdate from 1.1.1. with AnySIM to 1.1.3. Everything seems OK, but WiFi problems, EDGE problems etc. After that I made restore to 1.1.1. back and update it to 1.1.2. with AnySIM 1.2.1u and after that to 1.1.3 as Bezman wrote. Now I am absolutely OK with fully working 1.1.3 phone (including ID caller matching, ringtones, etc.)

Hello,

I have one phone with Nate's JB solution, and another phone with the "Dev Team"'s JB solution. Whenn looking sinde the installed file systems, I can see differences, however BOTH result in iphones that are, for me, working.

What does that mean?

1) All the native iphone things work. Youtube, iTunes store, the google locate function (yes, I had to use the "LocateMe" fix, but nonetheless... the end result is the same).

2) The other apps I installed all work. This includes the HP15C calculator, the iGo game, and others.

I am satisfied.
