    Default Updating to 4.2.1 but not locking up the phone

    iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak and Unlock Your iPhone 3G Using RedSn0w (Windows) [4.2.1] If I use the restore file in that tutorial will it update my baseband? Because I do need the unlock

    Yes it will update your baseband. The only recommended/supported way to prevent baseband update on a 3G iPhone is to use Pwnagetool custom IPSW (Mac OS X only)
