hello my dear brothers
I bought an used Iphone 3gs with IOS 4.1 it was working well and accepting any sim card (without jailbreak and even cydia and SAM was not installed on it when working)
I upgrated it to 5.01 so now it locked and dosen't accept my sim card
if I will downgrade it again to 4.01 will it work ?
dos that mean my Iphone was official ?
please could you help me to unlock it with a way that preserve my battery when using it
sorry for my poor english
thank you very much

A) If your phone does have 06.15.00 baseband, it is absolutely NOT a carrier/factory unlock. It was most likely unlocked by ultrasn0w.
B) Once you upgrade to iOS 5.0.1, you need to re-flash the iPad baseband using redsn0w.
C) Once you have re-flashed the iPad baseband, you need to install ultrasn0w from Cydia.
This should restore your unlock. In the future, DO NOT blindly update your iPhone -- you're very lucky that you're still able to unlock after having done it this time. Most people who do that end up unable to unlock.
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.
iPhone 4, 32GB (iOS 6.1.2 | evasi0n | SHSH: 4.0 - 6.1.2)
iPad 2 3G, 64GB (iOS 6.1.2 | evasi0n | SHSH: 4.3 & 4.3.3 - 6.1)

Dear n1ckn4m3.
I bought a new 3Gs, and now have the same prob as Firas! I dont know what bb I ended up with: how can I check?
I restored blindly from iOS 4.x.x to 5.0.1 via iTunes without clicking 'shift' - 'restore', so installed the original iOS from Apple! Now I'm stuck at the activation screen on my phone when I try to activate. Error mesg says something like: Cannot activate your phone because the server cannot be reached....
I have tried everything under the sun that I know, from Reds0w, etc. Please tell me that all is not lost??
Many thanks, Ben.

PS: When I try to restore with Redsn0w ( Cydia and iPad options ticked) it restores up to where the task is handed over to the phone, somehere in the middle of the text scroll info on the screen.
