I tried to search for this but didn't find it anywhere so here I go:

I have iPhone 3Gs with old bootrom on firmware 4.2.1. and I've been trying to jailbrake my phone with redsn0w. I had a limera1n jailbrake on firmware 4.1. but since I (stupid me) upgraded to 4.2.1. that won't work eather.

The problem which comes up while trying to jailbreak with redsn0w is that when the program is exploiting limera1n crack I get 'unknown error' message, the program closes and I get white screen on my iPhone.

Restoring iPhone with iTunes won't fix the problem and I'm running out of ways to get over this.

UPDATE: I got past white screen by accident doing exactly the same thing I have been doing over and over again. Don't know how and why but I did it !!! After 3 days of work trying to accomplish this I am thrilled

Sry about the post here, but if someone else gets the same problem - do not lose hope. Just keep on trying.
