    ok, iTunes is restoring now. Hopefully I will be alright following the next steps.
    Is the iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw downloaded to my pc after I followed the instructions to jb using redsn0w?

    The file is downloaded by iTunes to perform the restore. It is located in that path I specified earlier.

    I need to use my Mac to jailbreak. I restored with iTunes on my Mac as well, where would I find the ipsw now?

    well, it all worked out well thanks to you! only one problem: all my applications (games, etc.) I had from before don't launch! they're still on the springboard, but when I click on them they spring up and then I get the springboard back right away. did you ever encounter this before?
