Angry To Restore Or Not To Restore...?

    Hello Everyone,
Back from vacation, and it AWESOME! My iPhone, can't quite say the same. It was bombarded with new apps and updates and blah blah blah. However, it's been running really slow, like hitting the home button and waiting 30 seconds for response? Alternatively, apps tell me I'm running low on memory and I need to reboot. Looked through search and can't find a definite answer, so I was considering doing a complete restore to a normal iPhone. It kinda sucks because I only jail broken it for the use of themes to personalize. So my question is, what's making it run slow? And what else do you do with a jailbroken iPhone?

    Thanks Much,
    Jason E.

You have posted this under the 3GS forum, so I assume it is a 3GS. However you have also mentioned redsn0w. Was this the jailbreak tool you used?

Did you install Rock.app? (this is another program that installs non appstore apps, like Cydia). This has a known bug that starts to show a low on space/memory message after a while.

Regardless, did you have to run blackra1n or redsn0w every time you restarted the phone? That is a "tethered jailbreak".

If you did not have to do this.. then you can restore using a custom IPSW and stay jailbroken.

Also, did you ever click "make my life easier" in Cydia? This might have backed up your 3.1.2 SHSH with Cydia, giving you another option restore wise.

What OS are you currently running?

Sorry about that mistake it is a 3G running 3.1.3 and I do not have that app you mentioned and it is an unteathered Jailbreak.

    Thanks,

Then you likely do really need a restore to clean things up. 3G iPhones have half the RAM that the 3GS has so you need to be careful about keeping the number of tweaks that stay loaded in RAM all the time to a minimum.

It may be me being crazy but I think that my battery drains kinda fast as well, maybe I need to buy a 3GS.
