VERY new to this... in fact this is my first attempt. Using redsnow to try and jailbreak / unlock an iphone 3g 4.2.1 which a friend found. the sim card is a foreign carrier and I can't access anything on the phone through itunes. i see the base band needs to be updated to 3.2.2 ipad etc. i have run redsnow and get stuck at "waiting for reboot". I have tried it with "install Cydia" checked and unchecked and have had no luck with either. would greatly apprecitae some help as i'm getting ULTRA P.O'd at what should be a simple task. thank-you.

k.... managed to get the jailbreak done. Cydia will not run though as it can not connevt to the internet... not sure if this is a result of the wifi connection being damaged or some other issue. I know it should be picking up signal here in my home but nothing is showing under network connections etc. is there another way to "unlock" the phone now it's jailbroken? Thanx!

k.... going completely BONKERS with this. wasted almost half my weekend working on what should have taken 10 mins. Can anyone PLEASE help with this. I have found all kinds of "no wifi" fixes but every one of them involves downloading two pieces of software (ultrasn0w etc) and diskaid. diskaid no problem but i can not find a working copy of ultrasn0w 1.2.3 anywhere. every single post refers you too repo666.... deb link and for what ever reason this will not work on any of my three cpu's (windows xp and LINUX). i have watched a number of videos that state "all you have to do is download this file...." but do you think i can find it! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can someone steer me in the right direction.

managed to get this to work. Anyone else that runs into this.... sorry, i have no idea what fixed it. I d/l'd through Linux about three more times, tried to open in one xp system on my home network with no luck but it worked on another xp system so WTF? Anyway, can confirm the redsn0w / ultrasn0w no wifi (requires diskaid) unlock works on the 3g using the 6.15.0 bb with 4.2.1 ipsw.
