Default Redsnow 0.9.6rc16 and jailbreak 4.3.3... Modem and wifi no longer work!

I am able to get to the login screen, view apps, cydia etc but my phone does not show a firmware version on my modem and my wifi is greyed out!

Here is a snippit from a log when trying to restore.

Basically my baseband if fubard... I have no way to restore my baseband since I am unable to SSH into my phone since the modem doesnt work... Any ideas? I was on 4.3.1 prior to upgrading/jailbreaking.

Here is a snippit of the log prior to going to 4.3.3

I have tried restoring to stock 4.3.3, 4.2.1 etc. I always get that baseband error.

Do you have any clue on how did this happen? Have you tried tranfering the required files and using MobileTerminal instead of SSH (or some SSH client and connect to localhost)?
Have you tried redsn0w's install iPad baseband?

You need to get your phone replaced under warranty (or pay the out of warranty repair fee if it is no longer under warranty).

Don't bother with the iPad baseband, it won't work.

Ok, so here is what I did...

I was able to restore through itunes to 4.3.3, I then went ahead and used redsnow to jailbreak to 4.3.3. I then went into Settings>General>Reset all.

I was then able to get my wifi and bluetooth working.

I installed Openssh and was able to ssh into my iphone. So now I am getting somewhere. I then installed Fuzzyband and was able to determine the following info.

    Bootloader Version: 06.04 [G2M3S2]
    Baseband Version: ICE2-06.15.00
    iPhone OS Version: 4.3.3

I would assume the iphone is much like a mac/unix system... If I know what files to replace/edit I will be good. Any ideas now that I can actually access the phone?

    I am installing diskaid now.

I'm quite surprised that the "reset all" fixed your wifi. Are you sure you did not choose "reset all network settings"? That can sometimes fix temporary issues with wifi/bluetooth/gps.

Not everything on the iPhone is accessible or modifiable - even with a bootrom level jailbreak. So it's not always a matter of just installing some files. Fuzzyband won't alloow you to undo the iPad baseband update.

In your case, try the latest ultrasn0w and see if that can unlock the phone.

So that was short lived... My phone rebooted and I lost my wifi and cell service again... I rebooted it again and I have cell service once again, but no WIFI. ITUNES doesnt recongnize my phone now either and it wants to do a restore instead of SYNC. I am going to try using Cydia to "boot tethered" and see if that helps. My Cydia lets me install, but its white and wont let me launch apps. So that could be half my problem. I will keep everyone updated.

Ok, so booting tethered fixed the problem.

    Hope this helps someone else.
