redsnow crashes

ok so here is update.i somehow got the JB started and it was all good and i was like yippy!!!!!!!! but then in the middle of the process it got stuck and now all my phone is showing is Mr. Jobs APPLE. i m in deep trouble.............

put the phone in DFU and restore.

Its been 6 to 7 times i have put my 3G in DFU and everytime it gets stuck in jailbreaking activation and then a few minutes later the busy apple shows up. I m pretty sure that i m using the right ipsw and a fresh redsn0w 0.8 but still no positive result. can anybody suggest any new ideas. It would b much appreciated. Thanks

try in some other PC... or in XP environment

I have the same problem, tried to JailBreak the 3Gs for quite a number of times ... I followed the instruction from iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3GS on OS 3.0.x Using RedSn0w (Windows)

Stuck on step8, I held the home button, plug the USB cable, the apple logo gone, then the redsnow program crashed!

can anyone help?

are you guys using vista??? seems to be a problem when trying to use vista to jailbreak. people have had much better luck with xp

was having the same problems on vista , but then had an idea

right click on redsnow 0.8.exe and go to properties
and in there go to compatibility

there set it to windows xp service pack 2 and then go down and check run as
administrator

and then ran the process
and bam no more crashes on vista!
