[Question] Where do I get iPhone FW?

Hi guys,

Can anyone plz help me posting a download link for the 3G IPSW 3.0?? i found some links that downloads it and its a zip file which unzips some weird files and redsnow provides me with a message that its the wrong IPSW when i try to show it the 3.0 custom firmwire.

So plz help.

The zip file doesnt have any .ipsw file, so i m really confused.

ok. New trouble..............now redsnow is stopping while going in DFU mode and a message is popping out saying redsnow has stopped working and windows will shut it down and find a solution for it.

Any ideas guys???????

i did jailbreak and unlock in 2.2 firmware previously but now having a really hard time. Dang

LOL...........new update. so i got my 3G out of WALD (white apple logo of death)state and did a restore in itunes and then started fresh with 3.0 ipsw and redsn0w 0.8. when redsnow tries to get in DFU mode (yes i introduced it with 3.0 ipsw) , windows provides me with a message that redsno0w has stopped working due to a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Does this situation sounds familiar to anyone? what do i do to fix it?

One more thing, every time the redsn0w stops working, i connect the phone in itunes and it starts recovey and update again and again. i should also let you know that i dont have the original sim that came with the phone. BTW, do i have to close all the apple services and applications before i start jailbreaking using redsn0w?????

I have been searching every where for

the 3.0 firmward for the iphone 3G, and everyone I have downloaded
up to date is a zip and when I open it, and try to use it Redsnow can't find
the ipsw.

I even went to the website suggested above and downloaded both files
not working

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated

u have to rename the .zip to .ipsw and then u can use it. its that easy but i had trouble too.

@#$%**?! finally i got a hold on a XP and jailbroke my 3G. Freaking VISTA was causing trouble to jailbreak. I dont know if there were anyone else out there like me having trouble in vista, its just one of the crap Microsoft ever marketed.

i really need help.
imma a NOOB and i have no idea about this redsnow...

when i start the redsnow program it tell me to select tge corresponding ipsw for your current firmware.

i choose a firmware that i download in the link provided in this page...
and then when i load the firmware: iPhone1,2_3.0.1_7A400_Restore...
it says: unable to recognize specified ipsw

HELP!!
