OR DO U HAVE TOO JAILBREAK THEN RUN INTO PROBLEMS THEN POST ON HERE ...LOL
Hey goldee, this may not be the most convenient way to go about this but i believe if you downgrade your ios you should be able to go to a site like jailbreakme on your device and do it without a hassle, it worked quite well for me but that was a while back so not too sure about now.
If not, downgrade to what you want under ios5 then find a program like purplera1n and do it via computer, i'm not 100% on the method/program but only because it was only like a one click thing to get my 3gs broken so i don't really remember.
I don't recommend going down to iOS 4.x for jailbreakme.com, you can just use redsn0w to jailbreak your device. Beyond that, I'm not really certain what your question is... Are you trying to jailbreak? You mention jailbreaking but then talk about baseband and whether or not the phone is unlocked. Or are you trying to unlock? Your baseband cannot be unlocked without upgrading to the 06.15.00 baseband, and we don't recommend that unless it's absolutely necessary. If you want to anyways, do a quick search, there are hundreds of forum posts here and documents online that will step you through the process. Note, you ONLY need to mess with the 06.15.00 baseband if you are NOT PRESENTLY UNLOCKED AND REQUIRE AN UNLOCK. It is NOT required or recommended just for jailbreaking.
If you're jailbreaking iOS 5.0.1, you can use the most recent redsn0w and you should have no problem.
Thnx for your reply's....
But in the mean time whilst i have bein waitin for sumone too reply,...

@ Nickname thnx for ur reply
What am tryin to figure out is,is my iphone FACTORY UNLOCKED??
when i brought the phone, i was told it WAS NOT Factory Unlocked,on one network, but i tryd 2 diff network sim cards in it and they work,so i Presume it is Factory Unlockd
So if it is Factory Unlocked i Dont need to Preseve Baseband or anything else?...and i can just go ahead and install Redsn0w,and it'll Jailbreak it.
Thnx for your HELP Guys
MC132B/A is not a factory unlocked device to begin with -- it is locked to O2. That said, O2 DOES authorize unlocks on their devices when the device is out of contract term (or when the user has been in good standing for a long time and requests it), so it IS possible the phone has been unlocked by the carrier.
Your testing does indicate that the phone has been unlocked. The only carrier it would natively support if it were locked is O2 -- if you are able to put in a different SIM for a different carrier and gain network access, and the phone does not have cydia / ultrasn0w installed, it is unlocked.
You're correct that if the phone has been unlocked by the carrier (we try and refrain from using the term factory unlocked because it's not accurate, phones are never unlocked at the factory, the unlock is processed by the carrier the first time the phone is plugged in and the unlocks are carrier dependent) then you do not have to worry about baseband preservation to continue your unlock.
As always, you'll want to be careful about the version of iOS you're installing, as it is now not possible to downgrade to a 5.x iOS if you have upgraded past it. For example, even with SHSH, you cannot downgrade to 5.0.1 from 5.1. So, you'll still want to refrain from updating the phone until a jailbreak is available (if you want to continue to jailbreak).
Thanx again for ur reply again NICKNAME !.....
As u was sayin about the different carrier's "o2" is the only network i havent try'd because i have no sim for that network,
the only sims i have, and i've try'd is :- Orange(which i was on when i brought the phone) then try'd Virgin that work'd, then try'd 3 which am on now!!
So it is "unlock'd"
I havent upgrade'd anything too do with Apple since i brought my device,
I have also save'd my SHSH Blobs with ifaith and Built ipsw aswell !!
So where from here...lol
You think it would be ok too just go ahead and install Redsn0w ? "Untehtherd"
Also what version of Redsn0w would u recommend as there are meny versions out there !!
Thnx for ur HELP Dude, Most Appricated !
For iOS 5.0.1, you'd want to use redsn0w 0.9.10b5c to do the untethered jailbreak. iOS 5.1 is not recommended as there is no untethered jailbreak for it at present, though redsn0w 0.9.10b6b will complete a tethered jailbreak, I just don't like tethered jailbreaks, and iOS 5.1 didn't provide any features I cared about, so.
