Redsn0w Help 3gs
Used redsn0w to update my 3gs's firmware to 6.15.00.
Whilst doing this i direct redsn0w to the wrong ipsw. I must've not read the part where it said 'direct to current ipsw' I thought it meant to 4.2.1 whilst my iphone was on 4.0.1. Now after redsn0w was finished my iPhone 3gs is stuck on the NEW recovery boot logo (With new itunes logo) and i used iRec 4.0 rc2 and tinyumbrella to try kik out of recovery mode. But reboots back into recovery mode. SO i tried installing ipsw 4.2.1 onto my iphone and it gives error 1015.
iPhone 3GS (Old Bootrom)
Currently on 4.2.1 but Tiny umbrella says its on 4.0.1 <<<< Weird :S
Baseband is 6.15.00
Please any help will be appreciated :)
Have u tried updating stock 4.2.1 from itunes 10.1???? how do u know that ur ipad bb is installed???
You have a mix of 4.2.1 and 4.0.1 - this is why you have problems.

If you have SHSH for 4.0. then you can simply put the device in DFU and restore stock IPSW to 4.0.1 - use tiny umbrella to exit recovery mode after you get 1015 error. Then use jailbreakme to jailbreak again and install new ultrasn0w to unlock.
Or get a copy of latest pwnagetool and the extra 3GS/old bootrom bundle that was released afterwards. use these to make a custom 4.2.1 IPSW and restore that.
I have followed the steps outlined.
I was able to return it to jailbroken 4.1 on baseband 6.15
The phone works too.
Will try to update to 4.2 once confirmed unlock that does not mess up the GPS is available.
