iTunes download 8.2?

iPhone does not boot up when prompted to in Redsn0w. I have selected the iPhone1,1_3.07A341_Restore.ipsw file.

Where to download iTunes 8.2? I read that is my possible cause for not being able to successfully run Redsn0w on my iPhone 3GS with MacBook Pro 10.5.8.

I have 8.2.1 currently on my macBook Pro. I have tried to unplug and plug my iPhone back in several times, and tried using different usb cords and usb ports.

If you used the iPhone1,1_3.07A341_Restore.ipsw

It was the wrong firmware for a 3GS

your firmware should be iPhone2,1_3.07A341_Restore.ipsw

Try a restore with that firmware and see if that helps

That file dos not exist on my computer. :( The only one with iPhone2 is the latest 3.1 file, which is iPhone2,1_3.0.1_7A400_Restore.ipsw And Redsn0w does not recognize it.

I read that iTunes 8.2 works better with the jailbreak?

Readsn0w is designed to detect 3.0 and no modification is carried out for 3.0.1 so although you point to 3.0.1 in readsn0w it will not recognize it.

You need to point readsn0w to 3.0 and it works

Yes, originally I do set it to us the 3.0 file; it patches the kernel and then shuts down the phone, while that is happening it says waiting for reboot and the phone never boots back up.

That is when I try to replug the phone, 5 times, 10 times, and it never boots backup, until I press and hold the power button, but then Redsn0w never sees the phone after. Any ideas?

Update: I found the correct firmware file in the internet for download. I did not know I needed to have a modified firmware called iPhone2,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw I am all set and my iPhone is now Jailbroken!!!!! Thanks!!!!

Go to iClarified - Apple News and Tutorials
search for firmware
it will have a list of links and you can download the correct 3.0 firmware
remember as said above redsn0w will only recognize
3.0 firmware not 3.0.1

I also think there might be some problems in your frimware. Be sure about it. To download iTunes 8.2 there are many sites. Just take the help of google. You will find many to download free.
