I have a 3GS bootloader 6.4, baseband 05.13.04 . I used Redsn0w 0.9.9b9d built a custom no BB build for an old bootrom uploaded with no issues. When restarting without tether the phone wants an AT&T SIM? Is this normal. When trying a tethered reboot it asks for a nonexistent iphone2,1_5.0.1_9A404.ipsw file.
Is the issue just that I do need to re-initialize once with a real authorized SIM or is it still and other problem? Thanks
Replying to my own thread to help any who follow. I did find an AT&T SIM and that did the initialization. It will now boot untethered but since it is untethered no Cydia, no ability to unlock. The tethered boot still calls for the non existent iphone2,1_5.0.1_9A404.ipsw file.
Good news, as of this morning, you can use redsn0w 0.9.10b1 to untether JB any iOS 5.0.1 device other than 4S and iPad2. 05.13.04 can be unlocked with ultrasn0w as of 0.93 if memory serves, so the latest (1.2.5) should work fine to unlock it.
