It is not rebooting
Hi,
I am doing this tutorial for the third time. I apologize
if it is not proper to bring here this piece of literature:
iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock/Jailbreak Your iPhone 2G on OS 3.0.x Using RedSn0w (Mac)
It comes to the point in which it tells me:
"Please wait while your device is jailbroken"
"Waiting for reboot"
But this reboot is taking ages, that is why I interrupted
the first two times after I waited for some eight minutes
each time. I have tried it a fourth time and I don't think
the reboot process starts at all. This last time I waited
for about half hour.
An interesting thing to notice is the fact that iTunes has
a message most of the time, something like: "The SIM
card does not appear to be supported". However, one
previous time when iTunes allowed me to restore, I
used the latest version, I think, available for the
iPhone 2G: iPhone1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw
and the iPhone "ate it". Just recently I tried to do it
with the the ipsw firware of the tutorial of the iClarified
above tutorial and it tells me that there is an error, and
therefore it can not take it : ( !!!
Thank you, kind regards,
igmolinav : ) !!!

Reason: The title is missing iPhone 2G

P.S. I wonder if the solution would be to try to restore this iPhone 2G
with every single ipsw firware that was available until this iPhone 2G
finds one that he likes and "swallows it" in order to comeback to life.
Perhaps there was a version he had, and when he tried the latest
version given unknowingly via iTunes he "got sick". A solution perhaps
is to give to this iPhone 2G every firware available until he finds "the one"
Thank you again, kind regards : ) !!!

Hi,
As future reference, I just want to say that this is the tutorial that helped me to get my iPhone 2G out of DFU mode. It also unlocked it. I followed the "Expert Mode", and not the "Simple Mode" at the time to pwn.

Very kind regards,

Other helpful references, but not enough were the following:

and

Glad to hear you got it taken care of -- I missed this forum post or I'd have suggested the same. Thanks for letting us know what the solution was -- now when someone with the same issue searches, they'll see the solution documented as well.
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.
