The NEW redsn0w 0.9.6b4 CRASHES on me WTF?

Hey all

Just upgraded to 4.2.1 on my iphone 3G to jb but when it reaches to "downloading jb data" the program crashes on the computer. I'm on XP sp3 using the newest redsn0w 0.9.6b4.

What can I do?

make sure the following software are up to date..
Not WinXP 64Bit
iTunes 10.1 (if u got pervious version remove everyrhing related and install new version)

Yes I am up to date, 32bit and itunes 10.1

[SOLVED] thanks to MMI fans when running redsn0w open up task manager set affinity and uncheck cpu 0

Good catch. Thanks for posting to let us know -- I've heard of some issues with the new redsn0w and Windows 7 x32 / x64, but hadn't heard of any crashes with Windows XP.

I can confirm this works on Vista 32 bit.

I need help i am using vista 32 bit and i unchecked the CPU 0 but i left the 1CPU checked!!! I tried all different ways but i am sitll having errors. it keeps crashing!! really need help!! i am using redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc16. it won't work!!!

Make sure you either have UAC entirely disabled or that you are running redsn0w as Administrator. Beyond that, you did it backwards (though it shouldn't matter), you want to ensure that CPU 0 is checked but that CPU 1 is unchecked, and you want to do that right as you run redsn0w, before you click anything else in the redsn0w window.
