Default iPhone 3GS 5.0 6.15.00 stuck in recovery mode with Itunes logo

    Hello everyone!

I am in desperate need of a solution to fix my boss's iPhone.

It is a 3GS with 6.15.00 last installed with 5.0 and unlocked with unltrasnow. It was being used with a semi-tether.

While the phone worked well, my boss did not like having the tethered jailbreak, so I attempted to downgrade the firmware using redsnow and tiny umbrella to get to 4.33 and a untethered jailbreak. I was unable to do so and unfortunately now the phone seems to be stuck in recovery mode.

When I try to re-jailbreak using redsnow, it completes the process on the computer, and once the hard drive logo loads on the iPhone screen and the jailbreak info is downloaded, the phone receives some code and then some sort of error followed by:

    please wait...
    please wait...
    please wait...
    (repeated many times)

(then a message the software gives up)

    then

    please wait...
    please wait..

    etc

I have tried to install custom firwares through itunes. Nothing seems to work.

Please advise. I would just like to get the phone back to some sort of firmware so I can unlock it again. 5.0 is fine.

    Also...

    I have been using:

    Redsn0w 0.9.9b8

and have tried the redsnow recovery fix. It starts the jailbreak and I get the same error...

The tinyumbrella fix recovery also does not work...

I greatly appreciate any suggestions and advice! Thanks!

Do you have a 4.x SHSH? Also, 5.0.0 is not possible to restore to -- even with SHSH, iOS 5.0 isn't susceptible to the man in the middle SHSH replay attack like iOS 4 is, so if you want iOS 5, you can only go to 5.0.1 at present. Without a 4.x SHSH, you won't be able to restore back to 4.x, you'll either bootloop the phone or just be kicked back to recovery mode. Last but not least, you have to make a no_bb firmware in order to restore to a device with 06.15.00 on it, so make sure you've been doing that as well.
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.

    iPhone 4, 32GB (iOS 6.1.2 | evasi0n | SHSH: 4.0 - 6.1.2)
    iPad 2 3G, 64GB (iOS 6.1.2 | evasi0n
    |
    SHSH: 4.3 & 4.3.3 - 6.1)

    Default Solved

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Problem solved.

I was able to snitch shsh blobs to the 4.1 firmware. When using TinyUmbrella I was able to start the restore process by installing this custom firmware via iTunes..

Make sure the phone is in dfu mode or you will get error 20 from iTunes. In DFU mode with TinyUmbrella running TTS server, you should are aiming to receive the 1015 error.

Once I received the 1015 error I was able to recovery fix in redsnow which successfully downgraded the phone to 4.1.

After the downgrade, I jailbreaked the phone in redsnow and unlocked with ultrasnow.

The 4.1 is a non tethered jailbreak so it works perfectly!

Hope this information helps anyone with the 6000 ms error!
