Intense Battery Drain.. Please help
Iphone 3G
6.15 Baseband
Tried 4.2.1, 4.0, 3.1.2, 3.1.2, 2.2
My iphone is draining battery like hell! Tried SAM,
Push doctor,
Activating with original sim,
deleting some launch daemons,
turning off push and data access,
signing out of App Store,
Restored almost 30 times over past 60 days,
Reinstalled baseband many times,
Erased all content and settings
I never ever installed anything on iphone
I restored to firmware activated with original sim and still i see my battery 100..99..98..97..95..90...% in front of my eyes.
I turned on Airplane mode.. Still draining battery
No data usage is shown and correct stats are shown in Usage
Killed processes using Terminal..
I dont use mail app, itunes app
Battery drains..
It is my costly paper weight
Also Warranty is already ended of Iphone 3G

When you're restoring the phone, are you setting it up as a new phone? Or are you restoring from backup?

If you have restored to factory firmware (minus the baseband, of course) and you are still seeing the battery drain significantly without using the device and before jailbreaking or attempting to unlock, it's most likely that you've got a dying (or dead) battery on your hands. The iPhone 3G is a pretty old phone at this point and if it has an original battery, it's very possible for the battery to be at or near its end of life. You can attempt to recondition the battery as best you can by doing a completely full charge/discharge cycle, but based on your post it seems you've done this before.
If a full charge / discharge cycle doesn't fix it (restore to factory, tinyumbrella to kick out of recovery because of your baseband, let the phone die completely without using it or setting it up as new or backup, plug it into power and don't touch it until it's 100%, then unplug it and use it until it's back down to 0%), then the odds are you're going to want to replace the battery in the thing. As I recall, changing the battery itself is an easy fix -- it's taking the phone apart and putting it back together without messing up the comms board connection, dock connector, or home button that is the real challenge.
Most places have an iPhone repair shop (non Apple) that can switch batteries for a pretty low fee, I know of a place near me in Atlanta that does it for $35 including the battery. Take a look in the flea market section of the boards, you'll find a lot of people who would love to replace your battery for a fee.
Good luck!
