Ok, I have an iPhone 3G 8gb model. It has iOS 4.2.1 and is (well, was) jailbroken/hacktivated with redsn0w as well as the iPad 6.15 BB was installed and then unlocked with ultrasn0w. My dumbass friend though it would be funny to hit the *whipe all data* or something button under setting on the phone, not knowing the damage he was about to cause. I can't restore it on iTunes (the iPad BB) and all though I can run iREB to kick it out of recovery it does nothing. Please help before I start kicking some ass..

• or set up a hackint0sh in a VM and run pwnagetool there.

You only need to make the custom IPSW with pwnagetool 4.1.3 - once made, you can use redsn0w 0.9.6b3 or higher to put the device into pwned DFU mode and restore with custom IPSW.

What are NOT viable solutions:

• sn0wbreeze - it is not the same
• pre-made custom IPSW downloaded from the web, this simply cannot be trusted to be what it says it is.

Is there any way someone here could make me the .ipsw? I have tried to set up a VM on my computer forever and can not get it to work. I had one on my old computer, I am not sure what the problem is. No one I know owns a Mac..

It is ILLEGAL to distribute custom IPSW - that is warez. We don't allow anyone to post links to custom IPSW on this forum.

You need to make it yourself - I'd love to be able to help you out but these are the rules.

Is there any way to install OSX through a USB drive (something like unetbootin)? I am thinking it might work on my netbook, an Asus 1001HA.
