help in unlocking

Hi i have a iphone 2g which is unlocked..And i recently updated my itunes to 8.2 and when i connected it updated to os.3.0 and when i phone on it shows emergency calls only and shows display connect usb and itunes...Then i connected itunes it shows the simcard inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported.

Then i used redsnow to unlock and when i continue the procedure it has two check box cydia and icy,i cliked next but it shows updating but still doent finishes.....i am stuck with it.....my iphone as updated to 3.0 and not able to connect to itunes and emergency calls only help me.....

here is a good tutorial: iClarified - Tutorials - iPhone !
i did the upgrade on two 2G iphones, one with restore ("restore" is recommended), the other with update and i used redsnow on both without a problem.
maybe its a bit triggy, to get the sleep and the homebutton action correctly in redsnow, the advices how to press the buttons come immediately after you click "next" in the redsnow-procedure.

I have the same problem, I used restore in iTunes.

Thing is that getting it in DFU is not really the problem, redsnow uploads the ramdisk and everything and then says Finish.

According to iClarified reboot can take up to 5m, well I tried if 6 times now and after 15m I still see a dark screen on my iPhone without anything happening.

When taking the iPhone out of my dock it reboots and comes back to the emergency screen.

Have any of you guys tried using a custom pwnagetool ipsw?

It may get things done if sn0w is giving you problems on your PC's

Ok, I tried it on my laptop and it worked! Maybe everyone that has this issue should try it on another computer.

Just one question for you guys is using the update feature or the restore feature in itunes both safe when going to 3.0?

If there more problems doing it one way compared to the other?
