help any one.... i had the 4.2.1 OS for the iphone 3gs , i used the redsnow 0.9.6b5 to jailbreak my iphone , and it was successful the 1st time by installing cydia and the ipad baseband , but had problems with cydia ... then i went to restore with itunes , and had the 1015 error , now i am always in the screen where a USB port is pointing to Itunes , may i know how to solve???

I was stuck in recovery mode as well after jailbreaking using the new redsn0w. You should try using tinyumbrella. Connect your iphone to your computer and enter recovery mode. Then run tinyumbrella, and click the exit recovery button. It worked for me. But maybe your problem is more serious.

You need to provide more information.

Old bootrom or new bootrom?

Did you read the full text at Dev-Team Blog before you tried to restore?

Starting with FW 4.2.1 if you have 06.15 on your iPhone you won’t ever be able to restore to stock firmware (it will fail). You’ll need to only restore to custom IPSWs (then again, if you’re unlocker you should already be doing that).

Can you be clearer with your description - there are two screens that both have the "connect to iTunes" screen. One has the words "slide for emergency" at the bottom.

TinyUmbrella's exit recovery option only works when you are stuck at the screen that does not have "slide for emergency".

mine should be the new bootrom , with the itunes recovery screen without the emergency slide button , and also when plugged into itunes , it only shows IPHONE and no capicity or serial number , help anyone? thanks

You know, it's really easy to confirm this 100% - Bootrom - The iPhone Wiki

Most jailbreak problems are because people haven't confirmed their specific situation before they proceed.

When you restored with iTunes, was this to 4.2.1?

erm nope ....

You should have read the instructions, you are pretty much stuck until an untethered jailbreak comes out. There's only one "possible" workaround i can think of for this right now.

I'll ask some people with more knowledge than me to see if that approach can work.
