DFU loop resolution
Hey guys, I just got my 3Gs working again after having the stupid DFU boot loop for ages. I almost gave up and sent my phone in to apple to have them look at it, but at the very last minute I read a few posts and got some software to help me out. You may want to take a look at what these guys have to say if you are having the boot loop problem:
Mostly iPhone hacking: Working iPhone recovery ramdisk with SSH ;-)
The procedure is quite lengthy, but it helps diagnose phone issues.
I first noticed what the problem was with the phone when I used iRecovery over USB to open communications. On the status screen, it was saying "no nand device" and I could not load redsnOw option "just boot tetherd".
Solution: I disconnected the batter from the phone and let it sit for 10 mintues.
reconnected it and ran fixrecovery421 from semaphore's site:
http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot....supported.html
uses libposion to upload the ramdisk. It only worked after I uninstalled the battery and reinstalled.
Good Luck.
