Cydia crashes on 3.0 3GS after "stuck" install
I successfully jailbroke a new 3GS running 3.0, then ran Cydia. After all the obligatory installs, I tried to install my favorite app BiteSMS. It hung in the middle of the install. I waited a long time to be sure, then I did a hard reset of the phone. I then ran Cydia again and it said I could reinstall BiteSMS so I did, but it hung again. This time I did not have to do a hard reset, but each time I try to launch Cydia, it crashes and I return to Home. BiteSMS is working fine though. But I still would like to have Cydia!
So I ran Redsnow again to see if it would reinstall Cydia ok. Redsnow ran fine, but Cydia still crashes.
The other weird thing is that both Cydia and BiteSMS adopted the icons of other apps. At first, Cydia had its normal icon, but now it shows up with the Google Icon and BiteSMS shows up with another app I have from the App Store called Translator.
Any ideas?
TIA!

Yeah that happen to me too with the cydia icon being another app icon so i did a restart and plug in to my itunes and then viola it changed.

Thanks, but that doesn't fix anything. I wouldn't expect Itunes to fix Cydia app icons anyways. And Cydia still crashes.

how to fix cydia crashes has been mentioned before.
Please use the search feature in the forum
If you have mobileterminal or can ssh to the phone, you can:
- su root (password = alpine)
- cd /var/lib/apt/lists
- rm *
- cd partial
- rm *
Now you can quit mobileterminal / ssh. run cydia.
