After updating to OS3.0 i loose the signal
i have successfully updated to version 3.0 (Iphone 2G) but i keep loosing phonecalls.
people keep telling me that i have my mobile switched off !!!
as i can see on my screen, the signal is not stable, although the antena is opposite my building.
anyone having same issue ???
UPDATE: something unusual, i have fully restored my mobile and when it was deactivated, i could receive calls normally with no loss at all, after patching with redsn0w same thing again
UPDATE2: When i update the phone or restore it i can receive calls normally but the phone is de-activated. When i run RedSnow i believe there is no problem... but after i transfer the backup from my iTunes same thing, i loose incoming calls.
UPDATE3: User Kalantz came up with the solution - Remove PUSH mail from Email settings. Thank you Kalantz!!!!

I have the same problem with an iPhone 2G (FW3.0) on Vodafone GR.
Restoring and activating it with Redsn0w, everything works fine.
After the first synchronisation with iTunes, it fails to receive most of the incoming calls.
If I use another a sim card from another network, it works fine.
Update: I have tried 3 different Vodafone GR Cards. All USIM if it makes a difference. Two of them have the above problem. The third one works fine, but I can't find any pattern...

i'm having phone issues as well after upgrading to 3.0.
first i used pwnage tool coming from 2.2.1 and noticed i was getting voicemails without the phone ringing, so i tested it myself a few times. 2/3 times i tried, my phone did not ring at all. my signal was fine, so that's not the problem.
late last night, i re-upgraded again using redsn0w, same thing. i've missed a few calls today without my phone ringing.
something is definitely wrong w/ the new 3.0 jb / unlock
i'm using it on tmobile usa btw.
I've just found where the problem derives from. It is a FW 3.0 bug.
If Push is enabled, and you have no data plan (or sometimes even with a data plan), the phone tries to connect non-stop keeping the baseband busy. Thus the inability to receive calls and the short battery life.
Disable Push and everything will be fine.
Waiting for comments.
false, problem was happening before push notifications were enabled. i installed a push enabled app just so i could disable it, and the problem is still there with it turned off.

You have to go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data > Push (Off)
thank you. turning off push mail (which only my yahoo supported anyway) seems to be a temporary fix to the problem.
