Default Accidentally Jailbroke an unlocked 3G, and now Stuck on Apple Logo

    Hi,

I am new to iPhone, I accidently ran the limera1n on my unlocked iphone 3g, then as I was aware that I have done wrong I disconnected it from my PC while limerain was indicating my iphone was in DFU mode…., then I tried limera1n to recover it from DFU mode, but I wasn’t able to fix it and it had permanently stuck on apple logo. Then I tried unbricking. Then tired redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 Jailbreaking, with many PC restarts and plug-ins plug-outs of iphone, eventually I was able to complete the process, but in the end after some installations with pineapple cartoon, I again stuck on apple logo. Then I tried redsn0w again to use the option “just boot tether….etc.” but then I have stick again with a new pineapple logo. How can I go back to normal?

    Your post makes no sense.

you haven't mentioned iOS version at all. Limera1n only works on iOS 4.1 and 4.0.2

It is very important to use the correct redsn0w version that supports the iOS version your iPhone is currently running.

In fact I was trying to jailbreak my Iphone 4, but accidentally plug the 3g instead of 4 and stuck in this situation.

I didn't remember the version, I think previously it had been updated by itunes, therefore most probably it is 4.2.1. and all the time if use ipsw for jailbreaking or restoring it was 4.2.1. Now what I can do?

Some guy told me that I have to use sn0wbreeze instead of redsn0w. I don't need any contact or apps, whatever it takes I need it in normal unlocked state.

Some people in my country telling me that, I have damaged my Iphone hardware or some chip or IC, is it possible?

    Latest itunes version
    Windows 7 64 bit

It's unlikely that limera1n damaged anything.
Using redsn0w and an iPhone 4 IPSW to jailbreak/tethered boot an iphone 3G may have caused serious problems.

I don't personally use sn0wbreeze (it's a poor copy of the superior pwnagetool) but a custom IPSW made with sn0wbreeze and a full restore via pwned DFU mode will probably fix your problem. I'd recommend you enable the "prevent baseband update" option if unlock is important to you.

No I didn't use 4G ipsw, but after messing up with limera1n, I use tihs ipsw:

    http://www.iphoneforums.net/forum/ip...8_Restore.ipsw

    to restore to normal.

How will I do full restore via pwned DFU mode?

What is pwned? I sorry new to this world.

Well have Windows 7 64 bit, and itunes latest version.

I'm not going to sign up for yet another forum to respond in the thread you (incorrectly) linked to.

I would advise that you do NOT take the "update iPad baseband" option. At least not the first time around.

Once you have the iPhone booting again normally. Then you can see what baseband the iPhone currently has and then you can make an informed decision about baseband update.

    I downloaded ipsw here:
    http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/06...8_Restore.ipsw

And using sn0wbreeze 2.2.1 I created custom ipsw with following options:

    Mode was Expert
    Then I selected General
    I clicked background Wallpaper
    And Activate this phone
    And SSH

And root partition size was by default 800 MB; therefore leave it as it was.

And I unclicked the customs boot logos.

Note: Sn0wbreeze never gave me the option whether to install or not to install the Ipad baseband, rather it was indication it never and not will update the baseband.

I almost restored custom ipsw using pwned DFU mode without any simcard but it stuck in end and itunes indicating "verifying iphone restore", then I waited for an hour but nothing happened, so I put a local sim card (I don’t have AT&T or any other US sim) in it, wait again if it finihes, but still itunes was indicating same state.

Then I use Power and home button to stop this, now itunes indicating my iphone 3g is in recovery mode, it prompt me to restore. Now what I have to do?

I fixed the link in my signature (was a small typo)

Error 9 can be USB related, or it can be due to incorrect kernel patches (from the custom IPSW - which could be sn0wbreez's fault)
None of the moderators here use sn0wbreeze (we all have access to a mac or hackint0sh and use pwnagetool) but reports are that recent versions of sn0wbreeze do work.

The device rebooted before it finished fixing up the var partition. This reboot was unexpected. I can't see anything more from the restore logs (unfortunately).
