About LinkBacksI have a 3GS 4.0.1 (8A306)
I've been trying to jailbreak with Redsn0w both 0.9.5b5-5 and 0.9.2 by applying the 4.0 firmware (8A293) even though I'm running 4.0.1 (8A306) as their website should be possible.
The problem I have is that no matter where I download the 4.0 (8A293) ISPW from (I've tried five sources) I get his message after loading it into Redsn0w "unable to recognize specified ipsw". Can anyone help me out with this?
I found a great piece of information regarding Redsn0w this problem, though it still does not fix it! No matter where I get the IPSW from I still get "unable to recognize specified ipsw".

I have the same problem. It seems that the 3G can be jailbroken with this method, but not the 3GS.

I've got the same problem. Using redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5, it doesn't matter what IPSW I point it at (3G 4.0/3GS 4.0/etc.), it just tells me the .IPSW isn't recognized. Same .IPSW I used when I jailbroke my 3GS initially, so I know the .IPSW hasn't changed. Dunno what the issue is.
