Hi,

Today I tried several ways of getting my iphone jailbroken and unlocked but unfortunately none of them worked properly and I always find myself in a dead end.
Let me explain:
I have an iphone 3G fw 3.1.2 and the bb 5.11.07 I would like to be able to use it with an other carrier, so I guess I need to unlock it, but it seems from what I could read that I need to jailbreak it first. Whatever the technic I use to jailbreak I always find myself without the WIFI working so that means no way to get blacksnow to unlock, or no way to get pushfix to get the wifi working.

Is there any way of getting it working, am I doing something wrong?

Would love some enlightenment on the matter.

Use Redsn0w 0.9.2 redsn0w 0.9.2 [iPhone Dev Team]

Be sure to download redsn0w from the first (official link) rather than the unofficial link the guide gives.

Put the new SIM card in your phone *before* you start the redsn0w jailbreak process. That way it will know to hacktivate the phone.

Do you have no wifi problems when you run without jailbreak?
If you get wifi problems after that... try a reset network settings.

Use blacksn0w RC2 to unlock, that avoids most of the wifi problems.

Thanks for your answer, I thoroughly followed your indications but same result.
The wifi is there and seems to work but can't find any network around and just scan indefinitely. The reset of the network settings doesn't change anything.

I never seen the phone working without jailbreak, it belongs to a friend who was running it already jailbroken. My friend told me he jailbroke it with blackrain and then unlocked it, the wifi wasn't working but he could use the 3g (same operator as mine).

Any clue ?

This is a different problem to the one that blacksn0w RC2 solves. Might be hardware. I am not sure.

well, any chance to unlock it offline ? or without the jailbreak maybe ?
