So many thanks for the RedsnOw v8 versions. Just used it without any problem. Now my phone works cool.

i recently used redsnow 0.8 to move from 2.1 to 3.0

everything was good but i noticed i have really bad reception and lots of missed calls . people now have a hard time contacting me.

I am thinking of upgrading to 3.01 . my question is:
1.) will the above methods work?
2.) will this fix the dropped call issue?
3.) to upgrade my phone to 3.0 I just hook it up to my apple and then when itunes comes up, I just hit restore?

I've used the redsnow for mac, btw and that's what I am going to use again

on that note, has anyone else had a problem using their 2G with 3.0?

I've followed just about every tutorial found around here and keep getting stuck.

The phone has been update to 3.0.1, I use redsn0w v0.8 on a MAC and load up the 3.0 firmware.
I have Cydia and unlock checked. Go through DFU..
Then I'm stuck at the 'Waiting for reboot' screen.

The phone will not do anything at all (stays in DFU?) and the program simply never continues with any steps. Just sits at the "Waiting for reboot" progress info.

Anyone else faced this issue?


edit: just fixed it... I think.
While the "waiting for reboot" was on the screen, I unplugged the USB and plugged it back in. Worked like a charm!

Disable Push Notifications in the Settings menu and your problems will go away!

currently using 2.2, but nd to jailbreak to 3.0.1. on win platform. I have all the necessary files, but cant find BL 39.bin file...

q: can i use 2.2 BL-39 file during this process?

waiting for an answer from gurus out there

3.9 BL is the same for all firmware versions.

i am using redsn0w 0.8 and have a 2g with 3.0 on it.. I get all the way to the place where it says "please wait while your device is being jailbroken", and below it says "waiting for reboot"..

Then it seems like it freezes.. Any info on this??

Do a search on the waiting for reboot problem. It is as simple as unplugging and plugging in the iPhone USB cable at this step. Some users get the reboot automatically, some need to do this step, probably to do with different USB chipsets and OS usb drivers.
