2G. 2x Firmware ---> 3.0 update

So ... I have 2.X (quickpawn) FW with bootneuter set manually working fine for several months. Which is the process to upgrade 3.0 OS. ?

1.Enter to DFU mode
2.Restore trought iTunes 8.2 and download FW 3.0
3.Redsnow it

All my loaders are kept ? what about my data ? Do i need to backup it ?

1. Do a Back up!

I did the steps above but I'm experiencing Redsnow crashes when "Preparing jailbreak data". It happens during the "downloading kernel" phase. Redsnow crashes all the time even if i restart my computer and iphone.

Also, I've tried Pwnage Tool 3.0 and it crashes as well when it starts to build the custom ispw.

FYI, I'm using a PPC Mac. Can anyone help me please or if someone can email me a custom 3.0 ispw would be great. Maybe it'll work if i upgrade using that ispw. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

probably you are under Vista. I had same problem and i solved it, when I started the redsn0w program as administrator (mouse right click).
Then it went through perfectly. Take care because all phone numbers and sms are going lost....

I successfully upgraded to 3.0 using redsnow windows! I highly recommend to other people who's experiencing the same problem that i did to try using a PC. Hopefully everything will workout fine. Cheers!
