    Default Upgrading Baseband on a 2.2FW 3G

Hi mates, a quick question! I have 2.2FW with 1.45.0 Baseband. Can I just use QuickPwn or do I have to use Itunes to update to newer baseband and then Quickpwn ?

    Thanks!

    Regards!

When yellowsn0w comes out it should be pretty simple

You would use itunes to restore to 2.2 - 02.28.00 BB

Then use Quickpwn/Pwnagetool to Activate & Jailbreak

Then throw Cydia installer you would apply the yellowsn0w unlock

    Hi,

    Some clarification regarding quickpawn.
If I use it, it will automatically activate my iPhone, right?

I bought my phone in France (orange) network, and when I used pwnage with activation it wouldn't work with original sim card. When I used pwnage without activation (activated through iTunes) it worked with original sim card.

Now I am on holiday (vaiting for software unlock) and I only have a PC. That's why I'm thinking of using quickpwn. My question is: will the quickpwn-ed phone with downloaded soft unlock work with my original sim card (or do I have to wait for 10 days to get to a Mac and then use pwnage WITHOUT activation)?
I mean if soft unlock makes my phone work with any card, then I don't care whether my phone is activated from quickpwn or through iTunes.

Also, is it possible to use some windows program to only jailbrake but not activate the phone?

    Thanks in advance!!!

I wouldn't use yellowsn0w on an contact phone unless I need to use it on another carrier.

Quickpwn for windows PC gives you the option to not unlock see (Step Eight) of this guide.

    Thanks for quick reply n350z!

I forgot to mention that I have 3G, not 2G phone, and the question is whether there is some PC program that allows you just to jailbrake, not activate. I think quickpwn automatically activates the phone?
I am only asking this, since I am not sure whether soft unlock from dev team will work on quickpwn activated phones (versus iTunes activated) which were not from US?
If it should work than I don't care whether I activate it via quickpwn or iTunes.

    Thanks!

P.S. I also DON'T have a contract (I bought the phone for 609 euros ~ 860 US$ just so that I don't have contract, but they still gave me phone locked only to their network).

Yellowsn0w works with any phone with any type of activated & jailbroken phone from any country
