is it possible to update the 3g from 2.0 to 2.1? Itunes always wants to install 2.2.

I have the same problem, could someone please help us ?

I have the latest Itunes, it either wants to restore to the latest 2.2 or update to 2.2. I have the 2.1 file, however i have no clue of how to update it to this particular version

Any help would be appreciated

download the 2.1 fw to you desktop or any other location and use

shift + restore in itunes to open a browse window which allows you to select the downloaded firmware file...

i hope that is what you asked for....

you can download the fw 2.1 file from anywhere ....
google it or
go to http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750

be careful to select 3g ispw file for fw 2.1
