Unable to do shift/restore

I am trying to upgrade my 2.1 phone to 2.2 with QuickPwn and I have built the custom firmware (IPSW file) which is sitting on my desktop. But when I do a shift/restore I do not get prompted for a custom file. what am I doing wrong ?

Sorry I should have said - Mac. I suspect it's something like opt or cmd.

And I did Google and also look through this site before posting

Turned out to be alt (opt) restore. All working now, only problem is that I've got the pineapple logo instead of Apple. On the 2.1 jailbreak I had the option, I don't remember seeing an option on what I just did. Any way of changing it back to an apple.
