I just got an Iphone its ver 2.2, G3 and i have been doing plenty of reading but im getting mixed information about jailbreaking and unlocking. if i jailbreak my phone using quickpwn, i will never be able to unlock it? is this correct? there is no way to restore it and then use yellow snow? and is it true that i can always restore my Iphone that has been jailbroken so that if i need to send it in for repairs they would never know?

also all this would be done via A PC and not a MAC

So if jailbreaking can be reversed using QUICKPWN for windows then why am i advised not to break the golden rule? if i can restore my iphone back to 100% using itunes, then why cant i just do that and then unlock using yellowsnow

Its the baseband that can't be change by restoring to older firmware in itunes on the 3G phone.

yellowsn0w only works with baseband 02.28.00 from firmware 2.2 & doesn't work with 02.30.03 from firmware 2.2.1.

That why pwnagetool neuters the baseband upgrade process so the phone ends up having 2.2.1 with the 02.28.00 baseband instead of the 03.30.03 BB.

so will my baseband ever be able to upgraded in the future if a new version comes out and my iphone is jailbroken? i suppose im going to stick with at&t so maybe i shouldn't worry about unlocking. can you always hard mod the phone to be unlocked?

and is it better to use a mac to jailbreak my iphone?

It's better to use a mac for everything lol, If your going to stay with at&t like you said, i would'nt worry about unlocking

Mac or PC, a jailbreak is a jailbreak, so don't worry about the platform.

BB updates will be available to the unlock community as soon as the dev team cracks them. As it is, yellowsn0w is not a "true" unlock, but even when a lower level solution does become available, there is always the potential for problems with a new BB.
