I have been trying this since last friday, and I am having no luck. I am trying to change my boot screen with a custom one using the only windows solution I can atm "quickpwn-2.1-2g-3g" I have followed every how-to I can find to create the png, but everytime I end up with a blank boot. I will even get a blank boot if I choose to change the logo but leave the pwnapple in the main dir of the app. Is there any way I can mod winpwn to allow 2.1 quickpwning? I inserted the correct bundles, but cmw has put hash checking that blocks it

navigate to.

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Local Settings\Temp

and start quickpwn.

you will see it create 2 new folders (sort by date modified)

they will be at the top of your TEMP folder.

mine looks like this:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Local Settings\Temp\7ZipSfx.000\Data

inside this DATA folder are 2 files...

logo.png
recovery.png

those 2 logos need to be a PNG saved from photoshop, or the like, you need 1 x 1 pixel of transparency somewhere in your graphic... i like to use the bottom right corner. make sure its got a layer with nothing underneath it, and make a transparent section of your graphic, save for web, transparent PNG 24. and name it logo.png

you have to "replace" these 2 files before you do anything else in quickpwn.

once you replace those 2 files click the right arrow in quickpwn and continue on from there.

also, it is safe to redo your boot logos on a already jailbroken phone. you don't have to continuously restore.

just UNCHECK install cydia and installer, and just check the change boot logo box. and your phone will remain intact but with new boot logos

whats the dir for vista users???

well to anyone that cares the vista dir is

c:\users\your-user\appdata\local\temp\

though i found it wont accept boot logos like winpwn does winpwn you can add even jpg and they work just fine but this i just about managed to get a multi colour apple to load the rest you try add them and you get nothing but a black start up screen with the main ones iw anted to use ( penguine ones from winpwn lol )

i have a question.
he mentions you can replace the custom boot logos over and over without wiping data.
i have used quickpwn 2.1, my iphone is JB and unlocked...
but now i wish to replace the logos.

so if i use quickpwn and insert my custom logos, then go thru quickpwn, deselect cydia and installer, but select replace boot logos...
it will then simply replace them??
what about unlock? do i leave that unselected?

if i quickpwn the iphone again by simply selecting only replace boot logos, it will not wipe anything? I wont lose or change anything but boot logos?
can someone who has tried this verify please?

ijn the past when i quickpwn it wipes everything each time I quickpwn, so im skeptical that u can just change the boot logos.
