Hello. First post here. I hope someone can answer what is probably a simple question. Background:

2nd Gen iPhone purchased this summer (3g & GPS version). I upgraded to 2.0 fine, but during the FW2.1 upgrade, I ran into error 1604. After trying all the recommended fixes, I took it to the Apple store to get it upgraded to 2.1. A few weeks later, I thought the new version of iTunes would fix the problem, so I tried to restore just to see if it worked. No dice. I tried everything. Different errors in restore and DFU mode. I then tried it on my friend's iMac and it restored from recovery mode (connect to itunes) just fine. Then, sync on my Dell XP and back on track.

Here's the question: Can I jailbreak on my Dell using quickpwn without having to fear 1604, or will I likely end up back at the Apple store or my friend's house?

ps. I spent hours with Apple on the phone trying all their recommendations, sent them error logs, etc... They claim it is a USB conflict. However, 1604 occurrs on every XP in my office. I have tried over 5 different PC's.
